My favourite blogs

I love to blog and I love to read good blogs. As a blogger, I can really see and appreciate the work behind a site, behind a post, because I also know all what it takes. (check out my fashion blog – in hungarian) It didn’t take a long time for me to find my favourite ones here in the Middle East as well. My interests became  wider – not only fashion – so my selection here covers fashion, beauty, lifestyle, travel and food blogs as well.

I am still exploring, so please write a comment which one is your favourite blog, maybe they will have a new follower 😉 !

The best in food

My absolutely number one is Samantha Wood’s FOODIVA. Her reviews are priceless, and every time when we want to try a new place, or find something special I just look up on her blog, and I always get nice ideas where to go, and what to expect there.

Also from the food blogger universe, there is another masterpiece; its from Sarah Walton called THE HEDONISTA. I love how she writes, I can feel the taste and the smell of the food what she describes, or the sunlight when she talking about her travels (It has a part which mixes the characters of a travel blog and a food blog called Culinary Travel). It also has amazing pictures on it….look at those tomatoes!

The best in fashion

I found most of the Dubai based fashion blogs too luxurious for me. Sure, everyone loves to dream about Dior, Chanel, Gucci and Prada, but after a time, you start to have this bad feeling, that you will never reach that “level”. I don’t mind…really. What should I do with a bag which cost my half year salary? I’d rather go on holiday from that money. So for me the style is the matter, the inspiration part, not the “staring what we can never have” type blogs.

In the style & inspiration part definitely LYLA LOVES FASHION won for me. Zahra Lyla Pedram the editor of the blog, has a perfect taste. She mixes luxury elements with more affordable pieces (like TOPSHOP, ASOS or H&M) in her outfits. Even if she has everything, what we can only dream about, she is so down to earth.

But my ultimate style icon in Dubai is absolutely Teresa Karpinska the editor of Styledrifter. I had the chance once to met and work with her ( when I worked for a fashion company here, and she borrowed some dresses from us). She is the nicest person I met in this industry. Fashion scene can make people so uppish and superficial, but she is an exception (based on that half an hour what she spent in our showroom). Her style is perfect, I wish one day I can go on a shopping spree with her, to get an idea how she builds up her flawless wardrobe. She also posting about her workouts, restaurant visits, styling projects etc. so next to fashion tips and outfit posts you can get a bit of lifestyle of Teresa Karpinska as well.

The best in beauty

I’m a huge huge fan of beauty products, I think I already mentioned this fact several times, but I have to repeat because that’s the truth. I rely on 3 bloggers/professional and their tips, reviews, & opinion.

When it comes to product suggestions, tests, or reviews my choice is Carine Chamekh’s THE GLAMCRUSH CHRONICLE. She always gave honest feedback about the products and fortunately she often prefers the budget friendly items. Next to beauty you can find fashion, food, event or travel themed posts too, but the main emphasis is always on beauty and make-up crushes.

Since I started my Make Up Artist studies, I am a huge fan of the VICTORIA LOVES BEAUTY blog, of Victoria Hands. For me her posts are so easy to understand; she describes helpful techniques, gives really useful tips and I was never dissapointed in products what she suggested. This blog is a must for all beauty enthusiasts!

And at the end; the queen of the beauty scene at the ME. ; Huda Kattan. Her blog HUDA BEAUTY is a daily No. 1 destination for all beauty fanatics. She is sooooo active on all platforms, facebook, twitter, youtube, instagram, (and she also has her own brand for glorious false lashes). She shows her make-up looks, reviews products, provides tips&tricks, and I can continue until sunset.

So these are my favourite blogs, don’t forget to share yours!  🙂
